Two major issues affecting public education will get front-and-center treatment at the 2021 ASBSD-SASD Convention.
At the in-person event’s opening day (Thursday, August 5), South Dakota Secretary of Education Tiffany Sanderson, SDHSAA Executive Director Daniel Swartos and South Dakota DOH General Counsel Justin Williams will join ASBSD and SASD in discussing and answering questions on:
- The changes brought on the by the legislature’s passage of Senate Bill 177, which made significant changes to homeschool laws; and
- The proposed rules that will affect schools from the implementation of Initiated Measure 26, which legalized marijuana for medical use.
The panel discussion will begin at 10:30 a.m. in the Grand Ballroom following the keynote speech from Scarlett Lewis of the Choose Love Movement.
