On Thursday and Friday, August 4-5 at the Sioux Falls Convention Center the 2022 ASBSD-SASD Convention will take place with hundreds of K-12 education leaders in attendance.

Convention’s opening day is kicked off by our first Keynote Speaker Ruby Payne at 9 a.m. in the Grand Ballroom. Payne, a consultant on education and economic class, will empower educators in attendance to address issues of poverty in classrooms and other settings during her keynote address.
The first two rounds of Convention Breakout Sessions get underway at 10:30 a.m. and then 11:30 a.m. with sessions on public comment, free speech, behavioral health, cybersecurity, Title IX, classroom improvement and even more great topics.
At 12:30 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom, the ASBSD-SASD Awards Banquet will be held (learn more about submitting ASBSD award nominees here) followed at 2 p.m. by a full hour in the Exhibit Hall to visit our many, many exhibitors who provide excellent information, services and products to schools!
Our first day concludes with two more breakout session intervals covering open meeting laws, SDPB education programs, school safety, D&D in the classroom, survey methods in schools, risk management and so many more informational subjects, with the Dougherty Reception at 5:15 p.m. in the Ballroom.
The final day of the premier learning event begins with John Draper energizing educators and school leaders with his message at 8:30 a.m. in the Grand Ballroom. The CEO of the Educational Research Service Draper will provide thoughtful analysis, engaging narrative and a refreshing passion for the mission of public schools.
Two more breakout session times at 10 and 11 a.m. bring the 2022 ASBSD-SASD Convention to a close with presentations on a variety of school board topics, special education, CTE, online learning, mental health, SDHSAA and a wide range of informative sessions.
